Colombo: Sri Lanka Women 108-6, England Women 109-2 - England won by eight wickets

England won their ninth match in a row in all formats to claim an insurmountable 2-0 lead in the T20I series with Sri Lanka.

A simple victory was achieved with more than six overs to spare in Colombo, as the tourists chased down their target of 109 with just two wickets down.

Earlier, Katherine Brunt claimed two wickets and Sophia Dunkley picked up her first in international cricket to restrict Sri Lanka to 108 for 6.

That total proved wholly inadequate as Tammy Beaumont and Danni Wyatt put on 79 for England's first wicket.

Both openers were dismissed but there was more than enough time for their teammates to get the job done.

England now go into the final T20I in Sri Lanka on Thursday knowing victory would mean 10 in a row for only the fifth time.

Amy Jones said: "It's another really good win. We've talked a lot about getting into the habit of winning games and being ruthless and we want to continue that.

"It's nice to win a lot of games in a row and we want to keep that run going for as long as possible. It's less than a year until the ICC T20 World Cup so it's great for us to get used to winning T20 matches.

"The bowlers again gave nothing away and it was good to come back with the ball after Sri Lanka had got off to a decent start with the bat.

"We want to finish the tour with victory on Thursday and make it 10 in a row. That will set us up nicely for a really important summer."
