Bangladesh allrounder Mohammad Saifuddin has been ruled out of his country’s three-match T20I series against India.

The right-arm seamer has suffered a back injury; he was initially named in Bangladesh’s 15-man squad, but he will now continue his rehabilitation, though no replacement has yet been made.

Bangladesh physio Julian Calefato said: “He now will also have the opportunity to spend more time strengthening his body and his situation will be reviewed by the medical team again in the upcoming weeks for further updates.”

Meanwhile, the tour of India had briefly been in doubt after Bangladeshi players boycotted cricketing activities after making a series of demands to the Bangladesh Cricket Board. However, the strike has come to an end, with the sides having come to a resolution.

“We can say how satisfied we are when these assurances will be implemented,” Shakib Al Hasan said.

“Till now, I am happy. The board promised to resolve all the matters one by one very soon. I hope they will do it in the quickest possible time.”

Bangladesh squad for T20I series:

Shakib Al Hasan (captain), Tamim Iqbal, Liton Das, Soumya Sarkar, Mohammad Naim, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, Afif Hossain, Mosaddek Hossain, Aminul Islam, Arafat Sunny, Al-Amin Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman, Shafiul Islam
