Michael Klinger has announced that he is to retire from Big Bash cricket at the end of the current campaign.
The Perth Scorchers veteran will call time after his team’s final match of the season against Melbourne Stars on Sunday.
Klinger won titles with Perth in both BBL04 and BBL06 and has scored 1,917 runs in a hugely-successful Big Bash career. Only Chris Lynn (1,945) has scored more in Big Bash history.
"I would like to announce that this will be my last season with the Perth Scorchers," Klinger said.

"This season so far has not gone to plan for both myself but more importantly the team and I’m looking forward to seeing the Scorchers get back to the top where we belong next season.
