The 28-year-old limped off the ground during the second session of day one in Perth and will continue to be assessed
New Zealand are sweating over the fitness of Lockie Ferguson, who is an injury concern after leaving the field during the first day of his Test career.
The 26-year-old was 11 overs into his red-ball Kiwi bow when he pulled up with a right calf problem, which forced him off.
Ferguson will undergo an MRI scan on the area and will continue to be assessed to determine his fitness for the remainder of the match.

After being selected ahead of Matt Henry for the day/night first Test, Ferguson produced figures of 11-1-47-0, as Australia dominated the opening exchanges.
Included in the squads for the recent Test series against England, Ferguson - who had previously played 36 one-day internationals and eight T20Is for The Black Caps - was overlooked for selection despite enjoying a stellar World Cup, taking 21 wickets in nine innings.
