Liam Livingstone has flown home from the Indian Super League with "bubble fatigue", his franchise Rajasthan Royals have said.
Livingstone, who made his ODI debut for England during the recent series against India in Pune, had not featured for Rajasthan this season.
A statement from the franchise on Tuesday read: "Liam Livingstone has flown back home late last night, due to bubble fatigue accumulated over the past year.
"We understand and respect his decision, and will continue supporting him in any way we can."
Livingstone had previously been involved in the Big Bash with Perth Scorchers.
It is currently unclear whether the allrounder will be immediately available for his county, Lancashire, upon return to the UK.
On Monday, it was announced that India would move onto the UK government's 'red list' following a surge of Covid-19 cases.
That would mean returning UK nationals and those with residency rights having to fulfil a 10-day quarantine period following their return. The new guidelines applicable for India are due to come into effect from 4am on April 23.
The Cricketer has contacted Lancashire for comment.
