Buttler has played 61 times in nine seasons across formats for Lancashire, featuring nine times in the T20 Blast over the last five years
Jos Buttler has signed a new contract with Lancashire, extending his deal until at least the end of the 2025 season.
It is nine seasons since England's white-ball captain left Somerset, but the rigours of the modern-day international schedule – not to mention the demand for Buttler at the Indian Premier League – have meant he has rarely been seen at Emirates Old Trafford.
Buttler has played 61 times in nine seasons across formats for Lancashire, featuring nine times in the T20 Blast over the last five years and not since 2016 in List A cricket. His last County Championship match came in 2018.
"Whilst I have not had the opportunity to come back as much as I would have liked in recent seasons, it is always a privilege to represent the Red Rose and play at Emirates Old Trafford in front of our members and supporters," said Buttler.
"I will always look to help the club wherever I can and hopefully there are plenty of opportunities for me to able to do so during the next three seasons."

Lancashire's director of cricket performance, Mark Chilton, added: "We are delighted that Jos has signed a new three-year contract with Lancashire Cricket.
"We are all aware of the limitations within the schedule for a cricketer in demand such as Jos, however, as England men's white ball captain and a World Cup winner, the value of the experiences that Jos, when available, can impart into our dressing room cannot be underestimated.
"Jos is one of the most feared white ball batters in world cricket and to have the option to include him in our side, when the schedules allow, is something which can only make us stronger and benefit our younger players to learn from such an elite performer."
Buttler last played Test cricket in last winter's Ashes series but has long been an integral part of England's white-ball sides. He captained Manchester Originals in The Hundred until a calf problem curtailed his summer, during which he replaced Eoin Morgan as the man in charge of England's ODI and T20I teams.
The renewal of Buttler's contract follows the news that club stalwart Steven Croft has extended his stay for a further year.
