Delhi Capitals have lost seamer Ishant Sharma for the remainder of the Indian Premier League.

The 32-year-old suffered an abdominal injury during training last week, ruling him out of the rest of the competition.

Sharma has only featured in one match for the Capitals during the 13th edition of the tournament, against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

He finished with figures of 0-26 in a 15-run defeat, but that will be his final act.

A statement read: "Delhi Capitals fast bowler Ishant Sharma experienced an acute episode of left rib cage pain while bowling at a team training session on 7 October 2020 in Dubai.

"Subsequent investigations revealed that he sustained a left internal oblique muscle tear.

"This injury will, unfortunately, rule him out of the remainder of the Dream11 Indian Premier League 2020. Everyone at Delhi Capitals wishes Ishant a speedy recovery."

No replacement for Sharma has been confirmed. The team have already lost leg-spinner Amit Mishra with a finger issue, while Rishabh Pant has been ruled out for a week with a hamstring injury.
