Kent have confirmed the signing of India left-arm seamer Arshdeep Singh for a five-match spell in the County Championship.

Available across June and July, the 24-year-old joins George Linde and Kane Richardson (T20 Blast only) ahead of the new campaign.

Arshdeep is set to make his debut during the visit of champions Surrey starting on June 11, before clashes with Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Essex and Nottinghamshire.

Since his breakthrough in the 2019 Indian Premier League, Arshdeep has played three one-day internationals and 26 T20Is for India and has become a key figure in their white-ball sides.

He has had limited first-class exposure, playing just seven matches and taking 25 wickets.

Subject to regulatory approval, Arshdeep is set to become the fourth Indian to represent Kent after Kanwar Shumshere Singh, current India men's head coach Rahul Dravid and Navdeep Saini, who featured last summer.

"I am excited to play red-ball cricket in England and continue to improve my skills in the first-class game," he said.

"I look forward to performing in front of Kent's members and supporters; Rahul Dravid has already told me it is a club with a great history."

Director of cricket Paul Downton added: "We're delighted to have a player of Arshdeep's potential join us for five matches this summer.

"He has demonstrated that he has world-class skills with the white ball, and I am very confident he will be able to put those skills to good use with the red ball in the County Championship."
