Wood, the club's leading T20 wicket-taker of all time, has extended his deal until at least the end of the 2023 season
Veteran Hampshire seamer Chris Wood has signed a new contract with the county.
Wood, the club's leading T20 wicket-taker of all time, has extended his deal until at least the end of the 2023 season.
These days just a white-ball bowler – he hasn't made a first-class appearance for four years and retired from red-ball cricket in 2020 – Wood has played 280 matches for Hampshire since 2010.
"I've been with the club a while now and I'm fortunate enough to have won a few trophies during that time," he said.
"I've always loved playing for Hampshire, and at the Ageas Bowl, and I'm keen to finish my career here and look forward to pushing for more silverware in that time."

Wood won the T20 Blast in 2010 and is a two-time winner of the domestic 50-over competition. He took 21 wickets in Hampshire's Blast title triumph in 2022, including the key scalp of Phil Salt in the final against Lancashire.
Giles White, Hampshire's director of cricket, added: "He's a great competitor, wants the ball in the pressure moments and is a key figure both on and off the field."
Wood has represented London Spirit in The Hundred for the past two campaigns, still considered a canny left-armer at either end of the innings, while he also has remarkably appeared at T20 Finals Day in eight separate years.
