The wicketkeeper has made 280 appearances for the Welsh side in all formats, scoring over 8,500 runs and taking 259 catches
Glamorgan captain Chris Cooke has signed a two-year contract extension to keep him at the county until at least the end of the 2023 season.
The 34-year old wicketkeeper has made 280 appearances for the Welsh side since signing in 2011, scoring 8,658 runs and taking 259 catches across all formats.
In 2020, Cooke was named Glamorgan’s player of the year after top-scoring for the county in the Bob Willis Trophy and also featured in the PCA team of the year.
He scored 294 runs, including three half-centuries, and completed 18 dismissals in last season’s red-ball competition and contributed a further 221 runs (two 50s) in the Vitality Blast. To date, only Colin Ingram (1,275 runs) has more runs in the competition than Cooke’s 1,880.
Commenting on his contract extension, Cooke said: "I’m delighted to put pen to paper and represent the Daff for at least the next three seasons.
"We have an incredibly talented squad and I’m genuinely excited to be a part of it. I’d also like to repay the faith the club has shown in me by continuing to help build a squad ready to challenge for silverware."
Meanwhile, director of cricket, Mark Wallace, said: "Chris has had a major impact on the club since he joined us, and we’re absolutely delighted he’s agreed to extend his contract.
"He’s turned himself into a very good wicket-keeper and although he’s easily one of the most destructive batsmen on the county circuit, he reads the game incredibly well and plays the match situation.
"He consistently puts in performances across all three formats and in the last couple of years has become the true leader of this team."
