The Zimbabwe-born batter will join on loan for the rest of the campaign before a permanent spell in south Wales
Glamorgan have secured the signing of Eddie Byrom from Somerset.
The left-handed batter will initially arrive on loan for the rest of the season and could make his debut against Durham at Chester-le-Street.
Byrom, who has played 56 matches across the formats, has signed a two-year deal after four seasons as a pro at Taunton.
He scored a memorable hundred in the Bob Willis Trophy final against Essex at Lord's but has been sidelined from the red-ball team this season.
"It’s really exciting to join Glamorgan and start a new chapter in my career," said the 24-year-old.
"This move will give me the chance to experience a new environment and link up again with Matt Maynard, who I get on really well with.
"Glamorgan have a strong squad with some really good young players and hopefully I can help to take the club forward and help them to build on their recent success."
Director of cricket Mark Wallace added: "Eddie is a fantastic addition to our squad and we’re delighted to welcome him to Glamorgan.
"He is a very talented young batsman who is capable of playing across all three formats and will provide competition for places at the top of the order.
"We look forward to working with him over the next couple of years and see his game develop and flourish."
