The batsman pens a two-year contract to take his spell at Sophia Gardens into a 12th season, having spent his entire pro career in south Wales
Glamorgan have confirmed batsman David Lloyd has penned a new contract until 2023.
The 28-year-old has spent his entire professional career at Sophia Gardens, playing 168 matches across all formats.
Lloyd has scored 4,970 runs for Glamorgan during that period and remains a key member of Matthew Maynard's squad.
"Being Welsh and playing for the only Welsh first-class county is something I’m very proud of, and to have been capped and captain Glamorgan was something I could only dream about," said Lloyd, whose deal was due to expire at the end of next season.
"We’ve got high-quality overseas players, really talented youngsters and a solid core to build on, and the culture around Sophia Gardens is fantastic, across the entire club.
"I’ve played for Glamorgan since I was 16 and I can’t wait to walk out to bat again with our fans behind us."
Director of cricket Mark Wallace, added: "Lloydy has gone from strength to strength in recent years and has solidified himself as a key player across the side in all formats.
"He can bat anywhere in the order, he can bowl, he is a great fielder and is becoming a leader of the side too.
"He’s been one of our leading players over the last few years, especially in the T20 format, and brings balance to a side with his all-round skillset."
