Dan Mousley signs new Warwickshire contract

The 19-year-old, who has played age-group cricket for the club since he was eight, agreed his first professional deal in May 2019 and made his first-class debut in the same year

Dan Mousley has signed a three-year contract extension with Warwickshire.

The 19-year-old, who has played age-group cricket for the club since he was eight, agreed his first professional deal in May 2019 and made his first-class debut in the same year.

A winter with England Under-19s followed, topping the run-scoring charts for his country at the World Cup, including a century in the plate final against Sri Lanka.

He made his first half century for Warwickshire in a Bob Willis Trophy match against Glamorgan, before adding his first T20 Blast fifty in a defeat against Northamptonshire.

Director of cricket Paul Farbrace said: “Dan is one of the most exciting young batsmen in the county game and it’s fantastic for all associated with Warwickshire CCC that he has committed to the club long-term.

“He broke through to the senior ranks in both formats last season and made a notable contribution in each fixture. Dan now has a great opportunity to firmly establish himself across all three formats and become a mainstay of this Warwickshire team for many years.”

Mousley added: “It means a huge amount to me to represent my home county and I’m thrilled to secure my long-term future as a Bear.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my initial time in the senior men’s squad since stepping up last season and it’s been great to make this journey with a few of my closest friends who I’ve played county age group cricket with.

“With so many young players in the squad, it’s a very exciting time to be a Bear and I’m committed to working harder than ever to repay the faith that the coaches and management have shown in me and hopefully help us to win trophies in the near future.”
