The defending champions have complete the signing of the Australian allrounder, who has previously represented Brisbane Heat and Hobart Hurricanes
Defending Big Bash League champions Sydney Sixers have completed the signing of Dan Christian from Melbourne Renegades.
Christian, who is currently in action for Notts Outlaws in the T20 Blast, has moved to the Sixers after two years at the MCG.
The 37-year-old, who made the last of his 35 caps for Australia back in 2014, brings a wealth of experience to the Sixers' formidable T20 line-up having represented Brisbane Heat and Hobart Hurricanes in previous editions of the BBL.
Likewise, the power-hitting all-rounder has also enjoyed stints at four English county clubs, four IPL franchises, as well as impressing in the Caribbean Premier League and Pakistan Super League.
In his global T20 career, Christian has hit 4,475 runs at a strike-rate of 137.88 and taken 232 wickets at 29.04. The highlight of an international white-ball career came in 2012 when Christian took an ODI hat-trick at the MCG against Sri Lanka.
Now, the move to the Sydney Sixers gives the veteran a chance to finish his career in the place where it started, having moved to Sydney shortly after finishing primary school.
Speaking following confirmation of the move, Christian revealed his joy at returning to the city.

“You don't always get your fairy tales in sport but having played this T20 format for a long time this sounded like a good opportunity to bookend my career at home,” he said.
“Although I am not saying this will definitely be my last contract, the chance to come back and play at the SCG with guys like Moises (Henriques) was too good to miss.”
“We've known each other for a really long time and are great mates. We have played a lot of cricket together and against each other and played a lot of golf together. We still try to whenever we are in the same city.”
Head coach Greg Shipperd added: “I'm thrilled that we could add Dan to our championship-winning squad.
“He's one of the most sought after T20 players globally and will bring a wealth of experience and all-round skills to our group.”
“Dan also adds to our leadership strengths, and I'm confident he will bring forward some enlightening thoughts on the game.”
