Mumbai: Mumbai Indians 157-8, Chennai Super Kings 159-3 - Chennai Super Kings win by seven wickets
Chennai Super Kings came out on top as the Indian Premier League's two most successful sides did battle in Mumbai.
Ajinkya Rahane, in for his Super Kings debut, starred with 61 off just 27 balls as Mumbai Indians were beaten for a second straight game.
Ben Stokes missed out with a sore heel for Chennai and Moeen Ali was ill, while Jofra Archer's precautionary absence for Mumbai Indians meant there was no English presence on display.
Ruturaj Gaikwad (40*) played second fiddle to Rahane who was out in the eighth over, having broken the back of the run-chase, and guided Stephen Fleming's men to victory with 11 balls to spare.

Shivam Dube made 28 and Ambati Rayudu ended unbeaten on 20 after Devon Conway had fallen without scoring in the opening over.
That was as close as Mumbai came, though, to staking a claim for their first win of the season.
Rohit Sharma (21) and Ishan Kishan (32) gave MI a fast start, but their departures instigated a collapse from 64 for 1 to 76 for 5, with Cam Green falling for 12 and Suryakumar Yadav for one as the left-arm spin of Ravindra Jadeja and Mitch Santner dominated.
A rally from Tim David took Mumbai to 157 for 8, but that was comfortably overhauled by their great rivals.
