The women's Indian Premier League will take place in 2020 but is set to clash with the WBBL in Australia.

A third edition of the four-team T20 Challenge will reportedly take place between November 1-10, according to the Press Trust of India.

It will be staged alongside the men's competition, which is bound for the United Arab Emirates and kicks off on September 19, with the final scheduled for either November 8 or 10.

"I can confirm to you that the women's IPL is very much on and we do have a plan in place for the national team also," BCCI president Sourav Ganguly said.

Because of the delay - the tournament was due to be held between May 6-11 - it will now clash with part of the Women's Big Bash League in Australia. The sixth WBBL will be contested between October 17 and November 29.

Nat Sciver, Stafanie Taylor, Suzie Bates, and Hayley Matthews were among the players to play in both competitions in 2019 - but that won't be possible this time around.

The BCCI are also building a schedule for India's women, with white-ball series against South Africa and West Indies in the offing ahead of next year's 50-over World Cup in New Zealand.
