Tamim Iqbal will return to captain Bangladesh after being named in the squad for the first two one-day internationals against England next month.

A groin injury meant Litton Das led the squad during the series win over India and also missed the Tests.

But he returned to fitness during the BPL and is ready to lead The Tigers against the world champions.

Towhid Hridoy, the 22-year-old right-hander, earns his maiden call-up after impressing during the BPL.

He scored 403 runs at 36.63 for eventual runners-up Sylhet Strikers to force his way into contention.

"Towhid Hridoy has been doing well in the BPL," said chief selector Minhajul Abedin.

"He was in our pool of potential players, and was part of the HP [high performance] and Bangladesh A sides."

However, there is no place for Nasum Ahmed, Yasir Ali, Anamul Haque, Nurul Hasan or Shoriful Islam.

The ODI leg of the tour takes place in Mirpur and Chittagong between March 1-6 before the T20s take centre stage later in the month.

Chandika Hathurusingha will take charge of the team for the 50-over matches in the first assignment of his second spell in charge, following the exit of Russell Domingo.

Bangladesh squad (first two England ODIs): Tamim Iqbal (c), Litton Kumer Das, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Afif Hossain, Mahmud Ullah, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, Ebadot Hossain Chowdhury, Taijul Islam, Towhid Hridoy
