International cricketers Mohammad Amir, Shoaib Malik and Sandeep Lamichhane have signed up for the 2021 Caribbean Premier League which begins in St Kitts & Nevis at the end of August.

Pace bowler Amir will represent Barbados Tridents as he makes his CPL debut in the tournament’s ninth season. The Pakistan international, who has made 50 T20I appearances for his country, has taken 220 wickets in 190 career T20 matches and has an economy of 7.09.

Fellow Pakistan international Shoaib Malik is returning to Guyana Amazon Warriors, whom he helped reach the final in 2018 and 2019. The 39-year-old has scored 436 runs and taken six wickets in 17 appearances for the franchise.

Since making his T20 debut in 2005, Malik has scored 10,488 runs, including 64 fifties, at a strike rate of 125.99 and taken 151 wickets. He previously represented Barbados Tridents in the CPL between 2013 and 2017.

Nepal international Sandeep Lamichhane, meanwhile, has joined defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders – his fourth franchise in as many seasons. The 20-year-old has taken 27 wickets and bowled with an economy of 5.8 in 22 CPL appearances to date, and has amassed 138 wickets in his short T20 career.
