Ambati Rayudu insists the delayed Indian Premier League final between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans will be his final match in the competition.

The 37-year-old, one of only nine players to feature in more than 200 IPL matches, will finally draw a line under his career in the franchise tournament.

He appeared to be taking his leave last May when he confirmed on Twitter the 2022 event would be his last - before deleting the message.

The five-time IPL winner has again taken to social media to address his future, announcing the now-delayed final rescheduled for Monday (May 29) will signal the end.

The message included the pledge that there would be "no u turn".

In 2019, after being overlooked for India's World Cup squad he pledged to retire from all cricket before changing his mind just a month later. "I had some time to think over it and then decided I might as well come and play some cricket," he said upon reversing the decision.

Rayudu has featured 15 times for CSK this term, scoring just 105 runs. If they are successful in Ahmedabad a sixth crown will draw him level with Rohit Sharma for the most scooped by a single player.

The announcement came before rain forced the final to be moved to the reserve day for the first time in IPL history, with play due to get underway at 7.30pm (3pm BST) local time.
