Sri Lanka offspinner Akila Dananjaya has been reported to the ICC over a suspected bowling action.

Dananjaya was referred to the governing body in the match officials' report following the first-Test defeat by England in Galle.

The 25-year-old, who struggled with the ball and returned figures of 2-183 across both innings, is available to play for his country in the second match of the series in Kandy this week.

The ICC's process means that Dananjaya needs to have his action tested within 14 days and he may continue to play until the outcome of those tests are revealed.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka will definitely have to do without captain Dinesh Chandimal for the clash at Pallekele. Chandimal sustained a groin injury early in the first Test and struggled with the injury throughout the game.

Charith Asalanka has been called up as a replacement.

England have sent Ollie Pope on tour with the England Lions in preference over having the Surrey youngster carrying the drinks for the remainder of the Sri Lanka tour.

Pope's chances of playing have become slim following the impressive debut performance by Ben Foakes in Galle and he has instead travelled to Dubai, where he will be available for the unofficial Test against Pakistan A and the 50 and 20-over matches which follow.
