Calmore one win from Lord's following victory over Goatacre
Defending champions Calmore are one win from a return to Lord's after defeating Goatacre by five wickets in their Voneus Village Cup quarter-final.
The two sides met on the road to Lord's last season, with Calmore edging a tied encounter after losing fewer wickets, but it was a far more routine day for the Hampshire side on this occasion.
Goatacre were restricted to just 112 runs, with Mark Lavelle (3 for 16) and Steve Wright (2 for 20) impressing with the ball. Calmore completed their chase with 6.3 overs to spare, Ben Johns top-scoring with 26.

Rainford's fairy-tale continues with victory over Alvanley
Rainford's Voneus Village Cup fairy-tale remains on course for a happy ending with the club completing an eight-wicket win over 2021 runners-up Alvanley to book their place in the semi-finals.
A five-star performance from Jimmy Davies, who picked up 2 for 32 off his eight overs with the ball and scored 55 not out with the bat, grabbed the headlines – and Theakston Player of the Round honours – but this was another fine team performance in front of huge local support.

Dumbleton march on with comfortable win over Cropston
In scorching conditions in the East Midlands, Dumbleton completed an impressive 122-run victory over Cropston to advance to the semi-finals of the Voneus Village Cup, writes Philip Wilcox.
Batting first, Ross Martin and Adam Stuart scored half-centuries for Dumbleton to help the Worcestershire champions to 234.
Myles Holland then picked up 4 for 12 from four overs as Cropston were all out for just 112.

Foxton Granta edge Redbourn to book spot in final four
Foxton Granta edged a tight encounter with Redbourn to book their place in the final four of the 2022 Voneus Village Cup.
Playing in front of Village Cup ambassador, and former England Test captain, David Gower, the Cambridgeshire & Norfolk champions completed their five-wicket victory with just 11 balls remaining.
Johnny Atkinson top-scored for Foxton with 48 while Rajan Singh and Ravi Mahendra starred with the ball, taking three wickets apiece.

Allrounders have had their fair share of the headlines over the past few days with Ben Stokes' ODI retirement and debates about his successor occupying cricket journalists up and down the country.
And fittingly an allrounder was the star of the show in the Voneus Village Cup quarter-finals, with Rainford's Jimmy Davies collecting Theakston Player of the Round honours.
Davies picked up 2 for 32 with the ball before scoring a run-a-ball 55 to help his side successfully chase down 189.
