The Black Caps are awaiting the results of a scan on Henry's troublesome right hamstring and have moved swiftly to enlist a replacement. Jamieson will arrive in Bangalore on Thursday (November 3) and is in contention to face Pakistan this weekend
Kyle Jamieson will join up with New Zealand's Cricket World Cup squad in the event Matt Henry is ruled out of the competition through injury.
Henry, 33, only lasted 5.3 overs of his allocation against South Africa before limping off with a tight hamstring.
The 2015 and 2019 runners-up are waiting for the results of a scan on the area, but have moved quickly to enlist a replacement in the worst-case scenario.
Jamieson, who was previously injury cover for Tim Southee, is due to arrive in Bangalore on Thursday (November 2) with the hope of being available to face Pakistan this weekend.

The Aucklander has played 13 one-day internationals for the Kiwis, taking 14 wickets at 36.50 and scoring 83 runs at 20.75.
New Zealand are hopeful Jamieson will arrive fresh and ready to go having played for Canterbury in the last round of the Plunket Shield.
"The severity of Matt's injury, combined with a short turnaround to Pakistan, meant we couldn't risk being a bowler down for Saturday," said head coach Gary Stead said.
"Matt's been a world-class performer for us in ODI cricket for the past two World Cup cycles so we've got our fingers crossed for the scan results later today."

He added: "Kyle's on his way over as we speak and we look forward to welcoming him back into the group."
"He'll likely train with us on Friday with a mind to being available for Saturday's game.
"Kyle was able to train for two full weeks with us earlier in the tournament and has since played a Plunket Shield match - so we're confident he'll be able to hit the ground running."
Not just having to cope with losing their last three matches, New Zealand are battling with wafer-thin resources due to a mounting injury list which includes captain Kane Williamson, lower-order batter Mark Chapman and fast bowler Lockie Ferguson.
