Antigua: India 196-5, Bangladesh 146-8  - India won by 50 runs

India have one foot in the T20 World Cup semi-finals after sweeping Bangladesh aside by 50 runs in Antigua.

India's 196 for 5 proved to be more than enough runs as they restricted Bangladesh to just 146 for 8 with a professional bowling effort.

After being asked to bat, India smashed just short of 200 thanks largely to an unbeaten fifty off 27 balls from Hardik Pandya as well as high-intent contributions from Rohit Sharma (23 off 11), Virat Kohli (37 off 28), Rishabh Pant (36 off 23) and Shivam Dube (34 off 24).

It was an unusually expensive day with the ball for Mustafizur Rahman (0 for 48) and Shakib Al Hasan (1 for 37) but Tanzim Hasan (2 for 32) continued his impressive tournament as the wickets of Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav (6) took his tally to nine.

Pandya took his batting form into his bowling effort, removing the dangerous Litton Das (13) in his first over. It was an otherwise wicketless start for Bangladesh, with a partnership between Tanzid Hasan (29) and Najmul Hossain Shanto (41) but their lack of power left them well behind the rate.

Bangladesh captain, Shanto, helped ease some of that pressure with a couple of sixes and 14 runs in Pandya's second over.

However, this was short-lived as the introduction of Kuldeep Yadav (3 for 19) saw the Bangladesh wickets start to fall as both Tanzid and Towhid Hridoy (4) fell lbw and Shakib (11) chipped the left-arm wrist spinner to extra cover.

The Bangladesh chase limped to 20 overs as Shanto was dismissed by the ever-impressive Jasprit Bumrah (2 for 13) and Jaker Ali (1) was Arshdeep Singh's first victim of the day.

Rishad Hossain provided some late entertainment with 24 off 10 balls but India were completely untroubled throughout today's contest.
