A hamstring tendon injury has ruled the 23-year-old fast bowler out of the rest of the competition
Maitlan Brown has been ruled out of the rest of Melbourne Renegades' Women's Big Bash League campaign with a hamstring problem.
The 23-year-old suffered the blow during the mid-week loss to Hobart Hurricanes.
Scans have since revealed a tendon tear, curtailing her involvement in the sixth edition of the competition.
Brown, called up by Australia for the first time earlier in the year, had not taken a wicket in any of her four outings for the winless Renegades this term.
Across 59 matches for Renegades, Brown has taken 44 wickets, but she will have to wait another year to make a tangible impact.

Coach Lachlan Stevens is already without New Zealand's Lea Tahuhu due to a side strain, with uncertainty growing over her involvement in the tournament.
