The England seamer has been ruled out after aggravating an elbow problem, leading to the Australia quick being called upon for the 10-team tournament
Lucknow Super Giants have confirmed Andrew Tye as the replacement for the injured Mark Wood ahead of the new Indian Premier League season.
England quick Wood was last week ruled out with an elbow problem which he aggravated during the West Indies Test series.
He had been signed up by the Super Giants for 7.5 crore (£698,157) during the February auction and was expected to lead the attack in their maiden campaign.
Reports had suggested the RP Sanjiv Goenka Group-owned franchise had tried to lure Taskin Ahmed, a pursuit that failed after the Bangladesh Cricket Board refused him permission to play.

Tye arrives for his third spell with an IPL team, after previously representing Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals.
In 27 matches, Tye has 40 wickets at an economy rate of 8.46.
Australia have capped the 35-year-old - part of three Big Bash League title wins with Perth Scorchers - in seven one-day internationals and 32 T20Is.
Super Giants kick-off their campaign against fellow-debutants Gujarat Titans on March 28 at Wankhede Stadium.
