Lahore: Lahore Qalandars 200-7, Islamabad United 90 - Lahore Qalandars win by 110 runs

Lahore Qalandars continued their fine run of form by dispatching Islamabad United in clinical fashion.

Qalandars have won their last three games convincingly – by 63 runs against Quetta Gladiators, 40 runs against Peshawar Zalmi and 110 runs against United, who were set 201 to win and didn't get halfway there as Lahore usurped Multan Sultans to go top of the Pakistan Super League table.

They were given another fast start by Mirza Baig (20) and the in-form Fakhar Zaman, who followed his 96 against Zalmi with 36 in this latest rout.

Abdullah Shafique, Pakistan's Test opener, raced to 45 off 24 balls, while Sam Billings followed his fine debut with another useful contribution, making 33 in quick time.

Sikandar Raza's 10-ball 23 added gloss as Abrar Ahmed conceded 50 runs in his four overs and Zeeshan Zameer's two overs went for 30. Tom Curran, who dismissed all three of Zaman, Shafique and Billings, was the pick of United's bowlers on a chastening afternoon at the Gaddafi Stadium.

In reply, Islamabad began well before a diabolical collapse.

They were 41 without loss in the fourth over and were all out 59 balls later. Only the two openers – Colin Munro (18) and Rahmanullah Gurbaz (23) – emerged with any credit.

Shaheen Shah Afridi was expensive in his two new-ball overs and went wicketless, but Zaman Khan accounted for Gurbaz to precipitate a collapse of 10 for 49.

There were three wickets for David Wiese and two apiece for spinners Raza and Rashid Khan as Rassie van der Dussen (3), Shadab Khan (4), Azam Khan (4) and Asif Ali (3) all departed within three overs to leave Islamabad on the wrong end of a thrashing, bowled out with 6.1 overs still unused.
