Kent have confirmed batsman Zak Crawley has signed a new contract with the club.

The 22-year-old's fresh terms will extend his spell with the club until 2022 after he penned a two-year deal.

Crawley enjoyed a stellar 2019, scoring 820 runs for Kent in the County Championship, earning him a maiden call-up to the England Test team.

After making his debut in New Zealand, the Bromley-born right-hander became an established member of the side in South Africa.

He scored 163 runs in five innings as Joe Root's side claimed a 3-1 series victory.

Following matches with England Lions in Australia, he is part of the squad which will face Sri Lanka in two Tests later this month.

"Having played cricket in some capacity for my home county for nearly half of my life, I’m absolutely delighted to commit to Kent for at least three more seasons," he said.

"He has made huge progress over the last two seasons and his recent Test recognition shows the high regard within which he is held by the England selectors.

"Zak has a really bright future ahead of him.

"He is a quick learner and with his fantastic attitude and work ethic I am certain Zak will become a better and better player for Kent and for England."
