Hours: 39 hours per week / 52 weeks a year

Uppingham School is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Lead Cricket Groundsman to join a busy, close-knit Grounds Team where you will play a leading role in the maintenance of the school’s cricket grounds and associated facilities. 

You will also have the opportunity to develop your career further in grounds keeping, helping to maintain the wider school grounds and sporting surfaces across the 120-acre estate. Working closely with the current Director of Cricket (former England International) and the Grounds Manager and Deputy, you will be extensively involved in cricket surface provision and management, preparing cricket surfaces for county-level cricket as well as helping to maintain and improve the school’s other sports grounds.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience working as a cricket groundsman. They will also possess significant knowledge and experience of cricket surface provision and management. They will also ideally be NVQ Level 3 Sports Turf Maintenance qualified or equivalent. The ability to remain calm in a busy and demanding environment, excellent communication skills, strong leadership skills and a flexible attitude to working hours are all essential.
