Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha smash 142-run opening stand in Gujarat Titans' latest IPL win

Gill's 94 not out featured seven sixes, while Saha cleared the ropes four times in his 43-ball 81, as Lucknow Super Giants struggled to contain the two India internationals.

Ahmedabad: Gujarat Titans 227-2, Lucknow Super Giants 171-7 - Gujarat Titans won by 56 runs

A bulldozing opening partnership between Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha set the tone as Gujarat Titans stormed to another Indian Premier League victory.

Gill and Saha took a liking to the Lucknow Super Giants' bowling attack to compile a stand worth 142 in just 12.1 overs, providing the platform for a substantial total.

And the chase proved to be well beyond Lucknow who, despite the best efforts of Quinton de Kock, fell away in the second half of their innings.

Gill's 94 not out featured seven sixes, while Saha cleared the ropes four times in his 43-ball 81, as the Super Giants struggled to contain the two India internationals.

Only Aavesh Khan (1-34) returned figures of some respectability, while Hardik Pandya (25 in 15 balls) and David Miller (21 in 12) made sure no momentum was lost by Gujarat at the death.

In response, de Kock and Kyle Mayers gave Lucknow an electric start. The pair shared a partnership of 88 in 8.2 overs to keep their side in the contest.

However, Mayers was spectacularly caught by a tumbling Rashid Khan in the deep for 48 to interrupt Lucknow's progress and, while de Kock went on to make 70 in 41 deliveries, the Super Giants' middle order could not pick up the baton.

Noor Ahmad strangled the middle overs, posting figures of 1 for 26 from his full allocation, while Mohit Sharma was excellent in taking 4 for 29.
