Lucknow Super Giants clinched their second win since being added to the Indian Premier League by coming from behind to beat Sunrisers Hyderabad, who remain winless.

Kane Williamson's side looked in control as they chased a 170-run target for which Lucknow had their own captain, KL Rahul, to thank.

But with 27 runs needed and 17 deliveries remaining, Avesh Khan took the wickets of Nicholas Pooran and Abdul Samad in consecutive balls to change the course of the run-chase.

Jason Holder, playing against his former franchise, then closed out Lucknow's win with three wickets in the final over as Sunrisers folded to fall 12 runs short.

Earlier, Rahul had anchored his side's innings for 68, before falling in the penultimate over after being asked to bat first.

He then watched from the non-striker's end as Quinton de Kock, Evin Lewis and Manish Pandey all went cheaply, with Deepak Hooda's half century crucial as Lucknow recovered from 27 for 3 to post a competitive, match-winning total.

Sunrisers' reply began solidly, but they lost Williamson and Abhishek Sharma in the powerplay, and then both Aiden Markram and Rahul Tripathi before the score had reached three figures.

Pooran and Washington Sundar looked to be steering them to a first win of the season until Avesh's intervention saw the wheels come off.
