The Lucknow Super Giants skipper tore a tendon in his right thigh while fielding against Royal Challengers Bangalore
India batter and Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul is set for an extended stint on the sidelines after sustaining a thigh injury.
He will play no further part in the ongoing Indian Premier League season and has also been ruled out of June's World Test Championship final against Australia.
Rahul tore a tendon in his right leg while fielding during the Super Giants' clash with Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 1 and later confirmed on Instagram the injury will require surgery.

The incident occurred in the second over of the match and Rahul did not return for the remainder of the innings after being helped from the field.
He did come out to bat at No.11 as his side attempted to chase 127 but could not run between the wickets.
In his absence, Krunal Pandya will lead the Super Giants as they push to seal a play-off berth.
In an Instagram post, Rahul said: "Absolutely gutted that I won't be at the Oval next month with Team India.
"I'll do everything I can to get back in blue and help my country."
