The Gujarat Titans batter landed awkwardly while attempting a catch during the opening game against Chennai Super Kings and will play no further part in the competition
Gujarat Titans have lost Kane Williamson for the remainder of the Indian Premier League due to injury.
The New Zealand batter suffered a knee problem in the opening game of the Chennai Super Giants and will play no further part in the competition.
While attempting to take a catch on the boundary, Williamson fell awkwardly and had lengthy treatment before being led from the field of play.
"It is sad to lose Kane to injury so early in the tournament," Vikram Solanki, Titans' director of cricket said.

"We wish him a speedy recovery, with the hope of seeing him in action very soon."
A statement from the Black Caps added Williamson would return to New Zealand in due course to have the injury further assessed "and be seen by relevant medical specialists to establish a treatment plan".
The 32-year-old had already been permitted to skip his country's upcoming international assignments - they are currently in Sri Lanka and go to Pakistan in April and May - but it remains to be seen for how long he is sidelined.
Released by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the off-season, Williamson was picked up for 2 crore (£200,000) during the IPL auction. In 77 career matches, he has scored 2,101 runs at 36.22.
