What's the match?

Mumbai Indians take on Chennai Super Kings in the 2023 Indian Premier League.

When is it taking place?

The match is scheduled to start at 7.30pm local time (3pm GMT) on Saturday, April 8.

Where is the match being played?

The match will be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Who's got form?

Mumbai Indians head into this clash hoping to bounce back from losing to RCB in their tournament opener. The Indians put on 171 for 7, a total RCB chased down with eight wickets and 22 balls to spare following a poor bowling performance.

Tilak Varma was one of the few players to impress for Mumbai, scoring 84 not out at a strike rate of 182.61.

The Super Kings, meanwhile, have had a mixed start to the season, suffering a five-wicket defeat against Gujarat Titans before defeating Lucknow Super Giants by 12 runs.

Moeen Ali picked up four wickets against the Super Giants while Ruturaj Gaikwad has been in fine form with the bat, scoring 149 runs across two matches.

What's the team news?

CSK could be boosted by the arrival of Sisanda Magala. The South African, signed as a replacement for Kyle Jamieson, missed the first two matches due to international commitments.

Riley Meredith, meanwhile, has joined Mumbai Indians as a replacement for Jhye Richardson.

What's the key matchup?

Removing CSK's opening pair early will be key if Mumbai Indians want to win this match.

Gaikwad has started the season with back-to-back half-centuries while Devon Conway scored 47 runs off 29 balls last time out against Lucknow Super Giants.

However, with the likes of Ben Stokes and Ravindra Jadeja yet to fire, things could get a bit nervy if CSK lose a couple of early wickets.
