The 13th edition of the tournament will take place between March 29 and May 24, with the finale due to take place at the Wankhede Stadium
Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium will host this year's Indian Premier League final, BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly has confirmed.
The newly-renovated Sardar Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad, which is due to be completed later in the year had been lined up to host the showcase clash.
But the home of the reigning champions Mumbai Indians will be used for the fixture after a decision was reached during a governing council meeting.
Starting on March 29, the 13th edition of the IPL will reach its climax on May 24. Fixtures will be confirmed in due course.
After speculation match times could be brought forward to prevent late-night finishes, the BBCI have opted to retain the 8pm IST (3:30pm BST) starts.
Though the tournament will be played over 57 days, three fewer than in 2019, there will be only five double-headers as oppose to the 11 which took place last year. The quintet of early matches will commence at 4pm IST (11:30am GMT).
That decision will likely mean less time to rest between the double round-robin phase and the playoffs, the dates and venues for which are yet to be announced.
