Simmons made nearly 150 appearances in all formats for West Indies, winning the 2016 T20 World Cup
West Indies batter Lendl Simmons has called time on his international career.
The 37-year-old made just shy of 150 appearances for West Indies after making his debut in 2006. His final appearance came against South Africa at the 2021 T20 World Cup in Dubai.
"When I wore the maroon colours of the West Indies Cricket for the first time on debut in ODIs on December 7, 2006, little did I know that my international career would have lasted 16 years but my passion and love for the sport fuelled me every day,” he wrote via Twitter.
"I'm closing this chapter of international cricket having played 144 matches and scoring 3,763 runs in all formats."

He does, however, intened to continue playing franchise cricket. Simmons is the leading run-scorer in CPL history, having amassed 2,629 runs across 91 innings. He has also lifted the IPL trophy with Mumbai Indians on two occasions, in 2015 and 2017.
He may not have lit up Test cricket, failing to register even a half-century across eight matches, but the batter made white-ball cricket his own.
In ODI cricket, he scored 1,958 runs, including two centuries, at 31.58.
His most recognisable achievements came in T20 internationals, especially as an instrumental member of West Indies' successful 2016 T20 World Cup side. He scored a match-winning 82 runs from 51 balls in the semi-final against India.
