Australia captain Ricky Ponting's record of 252 innings is smashed by Kohli during the 78-run success in Pune
India's Virat Kohli added another record to his plethora of achievements after becoming the fastest captain to 11,000 international runs.
The 31-year-old hit 26 off 17 balls to reach the milestone in his 196th innings as leader of his country, in the third T20 against Sri Lanka.
It saw him eclipse Ricky Ponting's record of 252.
South Africa's Graeme Smith (264), Australia's Allan Border (316) and MS Dhoni (324), the only other Indian, are next on the list.
Kohli is now up to eighth in the all-time run-scorers list in international cricket, with 21,500 runs across all formats, at an average of 57.18.
Though the skipper chimed in with a handy knock late in the innings, India strolled to victory in the third T20 in Pune, to complete a 2-0 series win.
Half-centuries from KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan saw the hosts put on 201 for 6 from their 20 overs before Sri Lanka were bowled out for just 123 to reply.
