The Singapore international replaces Mitchell Swepson in the only change from the victorious 2021 group in the United Arab Emirates
Australia have included Tim David in their squad for the defence of the men's T20 World Cup on home soil.
Spinner Mitch Swepson is the only player to miss out from the victorious 2021 squad in the United Arab Emirates, and will again be led by Aaron Finch.
David, who has played 14 T20Is for his homeland Singapore, was born to Australian parents and is eligible to represent the country immediately as per ICC rules.
Over the past three years, the 26-year-old has made himself a global name with some stellar displays across the franchise circuit.
A regular in the Indian Premier League, Pakistan Super League, Caribbean Premier League, T20 Blast and The Hundred, the 26-year-old comes from outside the Australia national or state system and has never played a senior red-ball match.

His domestic T20 record is an impressive one: 2,640 runs at 32.19, with a strike rate of 164.17 - a figure that climbs to 204.80 between overs 16 and 20. David averages a boundary every 4.5 balls and he has already crunched 160 sixes in 115 innings.
He will likely make his bow during the three-match T20Is series in India later this month. The entire group will feature in that series, apart from David Warner who will be replaced by Cameron Green.
Australia then host West Indies and England in two and three-match series before the tournament gets underway in mid-October.
"This is a similar squad to that which became the first Australian's men's team to win a T20 World Cup, who are now very excited about playing the tournament at home," chairman of selectors George Bailey said.

"Tim continues to establish himself with some quality performances in leagues around the world, earning a place in the squad.
"He is a highly gifted, natural ball striker who will add extra batting depth to the group which has had a lot of success in T20 cricket in recent times.
"We expect him to play a similar role to that he has been playing in the past few years."
Hosts Australia get their title defence underway against New Zealand, who they beat in last year's final, on October 22.
