The traveling party will depart at the weekend, evaluate the extensive safety measures enforced by the PCB and state police, and report back ahead of a final decision on the feasibility of the senior men's tour
Representatives from Cricket South Africa will fly to Pakistan this week to assess security conditions as momentum builds towards the Proteas' first tour of the country in more than 13 years.
CSA confirmed on Tuesday that a group of delegates will visit Pakistan on a fact-finding mission, ahead of the potential trip in early 2021.
The traveling party will depart at the weekend, evaluate the extensive safety measures enforced by the PCB and state police, and report back ahead of a final decision on the feasibility of the senior men's tour.
The PCB are confident that both South Africa and England - who have been invited to make a whistlestop visit in January for three T20Is - will end their long absence from the country next year.

South Africa last played Pakistan in Pakistan in 2007
While South Africa have not played Pakistan in Pakistan since 2007, England's last tour came in the 2005-06 winter.
Meanwhile, CSA have confirmed that home Test matches will take place against Sri Lanka and Australia over the coming months, while Pakistan will tour for three ODIs and three T20Is.
Sri Lanka's two-Test tour takes place over the Christmas period, with matches set to be staged at Centurion and the Wanderers.
Australia will follow in February for a three-match Test series, stretching into March, ahead of Pakistan's visit.
The precise schedule for the Australia and Pakistan tours have yet to be announced.
