The international retirement of the allrounder has led to a shake-up in the leadership positions of the ODI and T20 sides
West Indies' white-ball teams will be led by Nicholas Pooran after the wicketkeeper-batter was installed as Kieron Pollard's replacement.
Pollard, 34, confirmed his international retirement after making 224 appearances in limited-overs cricket for the Windies.
Pooran has been confirmed as his permanent successor and will take charge of both one-day international and T20I sides.
The Trinidadian has played 37 ODIs and 57 T20s for West Indies and has led them on 10 previous occasions, winning four times.
His permanent spell as skipper begins with a three-match 50-over series against Netherlands on May 31, June 2 and 4.

Meanwhile, Shai Hope has been appointed vice-captain of the ODI side.
"I am truly honored to be appointed captain of the West Indies team," said Pooran, 26.
"I am following the footsteps of several giants of the game who have created an amazing legacy for West Indies cricket.
"This is indeed a prestigious role, a pivotal position in the West Indian society, as cricket is the force that brings us all West Indians together.
"To be named captain is indeed the highlight of my career so far and I want to drive the team forward to accomplish great things on the field for our fans and loyal supporters."
