How are England's Test contenders faring in the County Championship?
Jofra Archer has backed Sussex teammate Ollie Robinson for an England Test call-up this summer.
The pair combined to take five Kent wickets on day one of Archer's first County Championship appearance since 2018.
Robinson's (3 for 29) impressive start to the season, he took 25 wickets across the opening four matches including a career-best 9-78 against Glamorgan, sees him in contention to feature in next month's New Zealand Tests
"Hopefully Ollie Robinson will get his [England] chance this summer," he said after day one at Hove. "We all know what he can do, he’s a talented bowler and his stats prove that."
Archer marked his senior return by uprooting Daniel Bell-Drummond and England teammate Zak Crawley during his opening spell, eventually finishing with 2 for 29 from 13 overs.
The Barbados-born seamer has been nursing hand and elbow injuries, the latter of which forced his withdrawal from the Indian Premier League, but he was encouraged by his return to action.
"My fitness is fine, I thought I bowled okay," he added. "I played in the second team (against Surrey) last week and it’s good to get some confidence and I felt fine.
"I bowled in short spells for protection in case we had a long day but it was overcast, which helped a bit. There was a bit of management, but it all worked out."
