The three-match T20 series between West Indies and Australia in Queensland, scheduled to take place in October, has been postponed.
Cricket Australia annnounced on Tuesday that the matches - which were to act as a warm-up for the T20 World Cup between October 6 and 9 - would be rearranged for the build-up to the 2021 tournament, following the ICC's decision to call of this year's main event in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
“In light of this development, and given the preference to host the warm-up three-match T20 series against the West Indies to coincide with the rescheduled T20 World Cup in Australia (which will take place in either 2021 or 2022), it has been agreed to postpone the matches,” CA said in a statement.
Australia's planned tour of June and one-day internationals against Zimbabwe have both been postponed as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak.
CA are still working with the ECB to ensure a limited-overs tour of England takes place in September.
