What is it?

India host West Indies in the third and final T20I, with the series on the line in Mumbai. After sharing the opening two matches, it is the opportunity for either team to land a killer blow and sign off the series in style.

What's the schedule?

FIRST T20I: Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad – India won by 6 wickets

SECOND T20I: Greenfield Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram - West Indies won by eight wickets

THIRD T20I: Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai (Wednesday, December 11, 7pm local time, 1.30pm GMT)

What are India's chances?

India have been utterly dominant across all formats since the World Cup but they face losing this bilateral series if they cannot raise their game for the third and final T20 international in Mumbai.

They had won eight on the bounce against the Windies before defeat at the Greenfield Stadium, as the tourists chased down the target of 171 with nine balls remaining.

Shivam Dube hit his maiden T20I fifty from 30 balls and Rishabh Pant struck an unbeaten 33 as India put on 170 for 7 from their 20 overs.

But the bowlers were unable to defend the total. Yuzvendra Chahal went at 12-an-over from his three, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar went for 36 from his full allocation.

Selection wise, there is still no place for MS Dhoni – the latest signal that the great wicketkeeper's time in the international arena may finally be up – while both Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah are still missing as they recover from back injuries. Shikhar Dhawan also sits out with a knee injury and could yet miss the ODI series.

Otherwise, however, the home side are close to full strength, Sanju Samson was the beneficiary of Dhawan's misfortune, having initially been left out of the squad.

Who's in and who's out?

India: Virat Kohli (c), Rohit Sharma, Sanju Samson, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Rishabh Pant (wk), Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, Ravindra Jadeja, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Deepak Chahar, Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar

West Indies: Kieron Pollard (c), Sheldon Cottrell, Shimron Hetmyer, Jason Holder, Brandon King, Evin Lewis, Keemo Paul, Khary Pierre, Nicholas Pooran, Denesh Ramdin, Sherfane Rutherford, Lendl Simmons, Hayden Walsh Jr, Kesrick Williams

What are the odds?

After a strong showing in the opening game, odds have tilted slightly in the visitors' favour. Dafabet has them at 11/4, with India remaining 1/4 favourites to take the second game.

What about West Indies?

The writing looked to be on the wall for Phil Simmons' side after the first T20I, when the Windies failed to defend their first innings total of 207 for 5.

But they took that form with the bat into the second match, squaring the series as they chased down India's target with an over-and-a-half remaining.

Lendl Simmons was the star of the show, hitting 67 from 45 balls. Nicholas Pooran also weighed-in with a handy 38 to guide the tourists home with ease.

With the ball, Kesrick Williams and Hayden Walsh Jr took two wickets apiece to restrict India, but they will have to be at their best again if they're to come out on top.

They now have the opportunity to win a 20-over series in India for the first time when the sides meet again in Mumbai.

Fabian Allen is missing for the decider having not played since the first T20 against Afghanistan last month.

Chris Gayle is another notable absentee; he has opted to take a break from cricket for the remainder of 2019, having left his Mzansi Super League stint with Jozi Stars midway through their campaign. He told reporters that he had turned down a spot in West Indies’ ODI squad for the second half of their India tour as he considers his future.

"This will be another chance for them to play and develop," Simmons said. "The next T20 World Cup is in Australia and the one after that is here in India so there is a lot of preparation to be done, first for Australia.

"We have given the players here a chance in this series and we know we have players outside who may be coming in later on as well, so it's good to give those here another opportunity."

What will the weather be like?

Warm and sunny conditions are expected in Mumbai during the afternoon and it should remain clear heading into the early evening, leading to a full game.

How can I follow it?

Star Sports and Hotstar will show the games in India. No UK broadcaster is carrying the series
