Find out all you need to know about the series-deciding clash between the sides in Cuttack...
West Indies continue their tour of India in the second of three one-day internationals, with a win for the visitors set to secure their first series victory on Indian soil in over 17 years.
FIRST ODI: MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai – West Indies won by eight wickets
SECOND ODI: Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam – India won by 107 runs
THIRD ODI: Barabati Stadium, Cuttack (Sunday, December 22, 1:30pm local time, 8am GMT)
After defeat in Chennai's series opener, India bounced back in some style when the teams hit Visakhapatnam for round two on Wednesday.
Openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul each reached three figures before the West Indies managed a wicket, and Sharma went on to tally 159 from 138 balls, his record eighth 150-plus score in ODI cricket.
Virat Kohli may have fallen for a first-ball duck to visiting skipper Kieron Pollard, but lightning death batting from Shreyas Iyer (53 from 32) and Rishabh Pant (39 from 16) lifted the hosts to an insurmountable 387 for 5.
Despite 70-plus scores from both Shai Hope and Nicholas Pooran, India went on to secure a comfortable series-levelling victory after Kuldeep Yadav claimed his second career hat-trick to decimate the West Indies resistance, including Hope and Jason Holder in his haul.
The result means momentum lies with India heading into the series decider, with Kohli's men likely to be favouring their chances if they can again get early runs on the board.
However, Deepak Chahar has become the latest Indian player to be struck down by injury, with Navdeep Saini added to the squad as cover yesterday after Chahar complained of back pain following Wednesday's game.
Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah remain absent with back injuries of their own, and Shikhar Dhawan misses out again as he looks to return from a knee injury.
Saini is likely to join a pace attack further decimated by the loss of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who was withdrawn from the squad last week with a groin problem. Shardul Thakur, who was named as his replacement, claimed 1-55 in Visakhapatnam in his first game of the series.
India: Virat Kohli (c), Rohit Sharma, Mayank Agarwal, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Rishabh Pant, Shivam Dube, Kedar Jadhav, Ravindra Jadeja, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Shardul Thakur, Navdeep Saini
West Indies: Kieron Pollard (c), Sunil Ambris, Roston Chase, Sheldon Cottrell, Shimron Hetmyer, Jason Holder, Shai Hope, Alzarri Joseph, Brandon King, Evin Lewis, Keemo Paul, Khary Pierre, Nicholas Pooran, Romario Shepherd, Hayden Walsh Jr
India's Visakhapatnam domination has seen odds shorten on the hosts closing out the series, with 1/5 currently available with Dafabet. The West Indies are 10/3 outsiders.
After 2-1 defeat in the T20 portion of the tour, the West Indies will be keen to finish their lengthy trip to India by rounding out their first series win in the country in 17 years.
A win in Cuttack would secure their first ODI honours in India since 2002, where Chris Gayle's 455 runs in seven innings and a Marlon Samuels ton in Vijayawada secured a famous win over Sourav Ganguly's side.
Despite the magnitude of Wednesday's loss, the series remains level following a compelling display from the tourists in Chennai, where hundreds from Shimron Hetmyer and Shai Hope ensured a chase of 288 was light work.
Khary Pierre was handed an ODI debut in Visakhapatnam but ended up wicketless, though he was far from alone in struggling after Kieron Pollard won the toss as India's opening pair stood firm for 36.6 overs before KL Rahul finally rewarded the efforts of Alzarri Joseph.
Sheldon Cottrell was again the pick of the bowlers, adding the wickets of Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer to his two scalps from Chennai, though he did concede 14 boundaries and 23 other runs in the process.
Romario Shepherd and Brandon King are both without game time so far in the series, but Pollard's side will hope Evin Lewis can build on Wednesday's comeback innings of 30 if they are to capture the series spoils.
The teams can expect 30 degree heat to start Sunday's game, cooling to around 17 as night falls over Cuttack. However, a fair helping of cloud cover could threaten proceedings, and humidity is set to rise sharply into the evening.
The Star Sports network is broadcasting the entire series in both India and the UK. The three matches will also be available to stream online via Hotstar.
