The Cricketer provides all the information ahead of the three-match series which starts in Guyana and ends with two matches in Port of Spain
Following the conclusion of the three-match T20 series between both nations, West Indies and India do battle in a trio of ODI games as the latter's tour of the United States and the Caribbean continues.
Virat Kohli's men have lost just one of the last seven meetings with the Windies in the 50-over format dating back over two years. They prevailed by 125 runs in the World Cup clash between the two nations in Manchester.
FIRST ODI: Providence Stadium Guyana (Thursday, August 8)
SECOND ODI: Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain (Sunday, August 11)
THIRD ODI: Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain (Wednesday, August 14)
Any fears the scares from India's World Cup campaign might still be evident have been firmly dismissed thanks to the T20 series whitewash of the West Indies, the reigning world champions. But the reality is Kohli's men have not been forced out of second gear this month and we await a true test of their mental strength.
Navdeep Saini has emerged as a major positive during the series and it is likely we'll see him for the first time in an ODI as he bids to make a run into the squad for next year's World T20. Rohit Sharma missed the third T20 and amid speculation over his relationship with Kohli it remains to be seen whether he can regain his place.

Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan are back together at the top of the order
As MS Dhoni continues to consider his international future, the India wicketkeeper has been omitted from the entire tour of the Windies, including the ODI series.
Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah have meanwhile only been selected for the Test series, allowing them both an extended break following a gruelling World Cup.
Uncapped seamer Saini has been included in the 50-over squad and having impressed during on his T20 debut in Florida and Guyana much is expected of him again.
Shreyas Iyer and Manish Pandey are back in after missing the World Cup but there is no place for Dinesh Karthik, making Rishabh Pant the only wicketkeeper selected.
Shikhar Dhawan proved his fitness during the T20 series having pulled out of the World Cup with a broken thumb but Vijay Shankar misses out.
India squad: Virat Kohli (c), Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kedar Jadhav, Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Khaleel Ahmed, Navdeep Saini

Chris Gayle's ODI career is not yet over
It was a rather shambolic display from the Windies across the T20 series - a continuation of their troubles during the 50-over World Cup. Jason Holder must reinvigorate his side or risk them arriving at next year's showcase tournament merely playing for pride.
The list of players to underwhelm during the series was worrying long. Evin Lewis made two ducks, Shimron Hetmyer failed to get into double figures and Nicholas Pooran failed to build on a fine World Cup.
With the ball, Carlos Brathwaite remains a shadow of the player many felt he would become while Oshane Thomas probably needs a rest.
Such are the volume of issues, they cannot surely be solved by the return of Chris Gayle. 'Universe Boss' indicated prior to the tournament that the World Cup would be his final act in ODI cricket, but he has been named in the Windies squad for this series following a spell in the Canada GT20.
Keemo Paul, Roston Chase and John Campbell are back in after missing the World Cup, with Sunil Ambris, Darren Bravo, Shannon Gabriel, Ashley Nurse and Andre Russell making way to leave a 14-man group.
West Indies squad: Jason Holder (c), John Campbell, Evin Lewis, Shimron Hetmyer, Nicholas Pooran, Roston Chase, Fabian Allen, Carlos Brathwaite, Keemo Paul, Chris Gayle, Sheldon Cottrell, Oshane Thomas, Shai Hope, Kemar Roach

Roston Chase returns to the fold after missing the World Cup
For the first ODI in Guyana the match could be scuppered by rain though there could yet be sufficient sun to ensure a game is possible.
The forecast for the second game is much improved with a full day of play expected. However, thunderstorms are predicted for the concluding match of the series.
The three matches in the series will be broadcast live via Sky Sports Cricket (Sky 404, Virgin 504, TalkTalk 405) in the UK. Sky Sports Mix (Sky 121, Virgin 507) and the red button will also have coverage of the games.
For the opening ODI, India are the big favourites with Dafabet making them 3/10 to go 1-0 up in the series. West Indies are meanwhile available at 12/5.
