Players will surrender 20% of their match fee after being deemed to be one over behind schedule during the seven-run victory in Wellington
India have been slapped with a second fine in as many matches by the ICC following the fifth T20 against New Zealand in Mount Maunganui.
The governing body will deduct 20 per cent of their total match fee after the team were again deemed to have maintained a slow over-rate during the seven-run success.
Rohit Sharma, who stood in as captain in place of Virat Kohli, did not contest the charge which alleged the team were one over behind the rate.
It is the second game in a row India have been hit by the sanction, having lost 40 per cent of their pay packet following the fourth T20 in Wellington, which they won via a super over, after being two overs behind schedule.
Despite the reprimand being the second such offence committed by India in the last 12 months, a suspension has not been triggered.
The breach at the Westpac Stadium was the first time in five years India had been hit with such a punishment.
But the violations made little difference to the outcome of the series, with India waltzing to a 5-0 success over the Kiwis as their preparations for the T20 World Cup continue.
