The ILT20 franchise will supply kit and equipment to the charitable initiative while match tickets during the second edition of the tournament will be distributed to migrant workers across the United Arab Emirates
Desert Vipers have cemented their status as the most sustainably-driven team on the franchise circuit after confirming their line-up with the charitable initiative Bat for a Chance.
The ILT20 side have pledged to donate used and unused kit to BFAC after confirming the group as their sustainability impact partner.
BFAC, who work with charities in multiple countries, will then see that the gear reaches schools, clubs and academies in need.
Vipers are also committed to distributing match tickets for the second edition of the competition, which begins from January 19, to migrant workers across the United Arab Emirates.
The only franchise to have signed the United Nations' Sports for Climate Action Framework, they aim to reduce emissions by 50 per cent by 2030 and reach net zero by 2040.
The England and Wales Cricket Board, Marylebone Cricket Club, Surrey, Gloucestershire and Melbourne CC are the only other representatives from the sport to have signed up.
Vipers head coach James Foster (left) says the team are filled with "great pride and satisfaction" to be participating in the partnership
Phil Oliver, Vipers chief executive, said: "Providing used and unused kit and equipment to Bat For A Chance is one way we can achieve our target as it means we are living our values to reuse, recycle and reduce, as well as providing high-quality items for people to use and enjoy.
"And with this agreement touching our schools programme and affording opportunities for migrant workers to enjoy our matches during the DP World ILT20, it should mean our message on the environment is spread to a wide audience."
Bat For A Chance trustees chair Omar Khan added: "Our agreement with the Desert Vipers is a perfect partnership.
"Bat For A Chance will receive high-quality clothing and equipment to redistribute to people who need it across the world, and workers within the UAE will be given the chance to watch matches, something they may not otherwise have been able to do, all helping the Desert Vipers achieve there climate goals.
"At the same time, the profile of Bat For a Chance will be raised, something we hope will allow us to continue and expand our work globally.
"It is a win-win for both the Desert Vipers and Bat For A Chance, and we cannot wait to get started."
