BEN HART: The in-demand allrounder made 15 appearances in BBL11, scoring 218 runs at an impressive strike rate of 163.90 and two wickets
Tim David has extended his stay with Hobart Hurricanes for another two years.
The in-demand allrounder signed his extension prior to the BBL contract embargo period which began last month.
The 25-year-old made 15 appearances in BBL11, scoring 218 runs at an impressive strike rate of 163.90 as the Hurricanes finished in fifth place.
Since joining the Hurricanes from Perth Scorchers ahead of BBL10, the Singapore international has also become a promising off-spin bowler. He recorded best figures of 1 for 4 in BBL11 against eventual finalists Sydney Sixers.
David is one of the hottest prospects in T20 cricket, becoming the highest paid non-Indian player in Mumbai Indians' history when they spent 8.25 crore (£807,048) to secure his services at the 2022 IPL mega auction.

He is currently representing Multan Sultans in the PSL and has recently signed for Lancashire for the 2022 T20 Blast.
"I’m really happy to be extending my time with the Hurricanes," David said. "I’m thankful to the opportunity they gave me two years ago to be part of this team. The Hurricanes have been an important part of my growth as a player.
"I believe we have some great talent in this squad and I’m confident that if we play our best cricket we are capable of winning the BBL."
Cricket Tasmania’s general manager of high performance, Simon Insley, added: "Tim has had a meteoric rise over the past two seasons that is a testament to his hard work, we are delighted to have him on board for BBL12 and BBL13."
David joins Nathan Ellis, Ben McDermott, Joel Paris, D’Arcy Short and Matthew Wade in the Hurricanes roster for BBL12.
