The injured 23-year-old is expected to miss the whole of the 2020 season after knee surgery but will remain at the Ageas Bowl until at least 2022
Hampshire batsman Aneurin Donald has signed a new two-year contract to remain at the Ageas Bowl until 2022.
The 23-year-old moved to the club in 2018 from Glamorgan and scored 888 runs across all formats last season.
Donald underwent knee surgery at the back-end of last term and is expected to miss all of the upcoming campaign as a result.
"I am delighted to be able to commit to a further two years at Hampshire, a club and dressing room that has welcomed me with open arms and made me feel at home right from the start," he said.
"The ability and talent throughout the squad is pretty evident to see and we fully expect to be challenging for titles across all formats for the foreseeable future, and I am looking forward to contributing to that in every way I possibly can."
Director of cricket Giles White added: "Aneurin is an exciting player and he’s impressed since joining us at the end of 2018.
"He adds a lot to the side in all formats and he did particularly well in the County Championship last year, which was really encouraging.
"He’s got a high ceiling, is a really team-orientated player and great around the group so we’re delighted that he’s signed an extension. We see him as a player that will hopefully be with us for quite some time."
