Gloucestershire have signed seamer Ajeet Dale on a two-year deal.
The 21-year-old made his first-class debut for Hampshire last summer after coming through the club’s academy, taking three wickets in the match, before featuring once more in the Bob Willis Trophy.
He turned out for Gloucestershire’s second team earlier this season, taking eight wickets in four Second XI Championship appearances.
He said: “There’s a great buzz around the club and I can’t wait to see that be translated to more success on the pitch in the coming years. I’m very hungry to make a meaningful contribution.”
Owen Dawkins, Gloucestershire’s second team and batting coach, added: “While playing for our Second XI at the back end of the season, Ajeet displayed different skills to what our other young seamers offer. When putting a squad together it is important we have a variety of options and Ajeet will complement and strengthen our current attack."
Dale’s addition furthers Gloucestershire’s youthful seam attack, which already includes Dominic Goodman, 20, Tom Price, 21, Jared Warner, 24, and Josh Shaw, 25.
