Young allrounder Ollie Price has agreed a two-year contract to join Gloucestershire ahead of the upcoming season.

Price will join the county alongside his seam-bowling elder brother Tom, who became the club's fourth signing of the winter earlier this month when he agreed a similar two-year deal to play for the Bristol-based side.

The younger Price, who is yet to make his first-team debut, earns his contract after three years in the county's academy system.

He had previously played his cricket at Great & Little Tew CC before captaining Oxfordshire at age-group level.

Ollie, 18, enjoyed a breakthrough season in the county's 2nd XI during the 2019 summer, tallying a maiden half-century at the level against a Sussex attack featuring Jofra Archer and four other first-team players in August.

Richard Dawson, the county's head coach, commented: "Ollie has been showing promising signs this season in the Gloucestershire second eleven matches.

He continues to show developing skills and we look forward to seeing what the future holds for Ollie in the next couple of years.

Price added: "I was really proud and excited to get this opportunity and hopefully I can make it count next summer.

"I have loved being a part of the Gloucestershire Cricket Academy, and I'm grateful for the continual support from such a great set up.

"It's a fantastic time to be at the club, and I can't wait to try to contribute to this team next year."
